Privacy Policy

This policy explains how your personal data is processed when you use the Çeyiz.co mobile app and the ceyiz.co website. It is the privacy notice required by Article 10 of Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK).

Data we process

• Account details: your email address and, depending on how you sign in, your name.
• Couple and planning details: your name, your side, wedding date, city and budget; lists, products, prices and instalments, events, tasks, gold book entries, receipt photos and the answers you give during setup.
• Guest album: photos, videos and voice recordings uploaded by guests, and the name they may enter. This policy also applies to guests who upload.
• Guest list and invitations (Pro): the name, side, party size, names of the people coming with them, table and note of the guests a couple adds; the guest’s reply and how many people will attend. Guests do not need to use Çeyiz.co; this policy also applies to guests who open their invitation page.
• Import your list (Pro): the photos, files and text you send to be turned into lists.
• Subscription details: your subscription status and purchase history. Payment is handled by the App Store or Google Play; your card details never reach us.
• Technical data: notification token, device and app information, and records such as IP addresses kept for security.
• Usage data: the screens you open in the app and technical details about your device (device model, operating system version, country, app version and an installation identifier specific to the app). Your advertising identifier is not collected, this data is not used for advertising, and your name, email address, the products in your lists and amounts are not part of it.
• Contact: your email and its content when you write to us.

Data is collected electronically through the app, the website and email. The couple enters the details on its guest list; a guest replies on their invitation page on the website, or the couple records the reply in the app. The website uses no advertising cookies; the Google Analytics cookies that measure how the site is used load only if you allow them in the cookie notice, and you can withdraw that permission at any time. Your browser also keeps your preferences, such as the theme, and that answer.

Why we process data and on what legal basis

• Providing the service (account, sharing lists with your partner, guest album, guest list and invitations, reminders, verifying your subscription): establishing and performing a contract (KVKK Art. 5(2)(c)).
• Processing guests’ details (guest list, invitation page and replies): legitimate interest (Art. 5(2)(f)), so that the couple can manage its guests and we can show each guest their own invitation.
• Keeping the service secure and improving it (preventing abuse, fixing errors, usage analytics, reviewing how well Import your list reads): legitimate interest (Art. 5(2)(f)). Measurement on the website happens only with your explicit consent.
• Meeting legal obligations (requests from competent authorities): legal obligation (Art. 5(2)(ç)).
• Sending what you import with Import your list to the AI service provider abroad: the explicit consent you give in the app before your first import. Using this feature is optional.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising or tracking. We share it only as far as needed to provide the service, with these groups:

• Infrastructure providers: database, file storage, email delivery and notifications.
• A subscription verification service, and the App Store and Google Play.
• Firebase Analytics and Google Analytics (Google, USA): only the usage data from the app and the website.
• AI service provider (USA): only what you send with Import your list, so that it can be read and turned into lists. The provider does not use this data to train its models.
• Your partner: the two people in a couple see the couple’s lists, budget, events, guest list and album.
• The guest: on the invitation page a guest sees only their own invitation: the couple’s names, the event’s date and place, their own name, party size, who comes with them and their reply. They do not see the rest of the guest list. The couple sees the guest’s reply.
• Competent public authorities: where required by law.

Some of our service providers have servers abroad (European Union and USA).

How long we keep data

• Your data is kept while your account is open.
• When you delete your account, your data is removed from the app immediately and anonymised after 30 days; if no one is left in the couple, the album and receipt files are deleted too. See Account deletion for details.
• When no one is left in a couple, the guest list and invitation links are removed immediately; guests’ names, the names of the people coming with them, their tables and notes are anonymised after 30 days.
• Content removed from the album is permanently deleted after 30 days.
• What you send with Import your list is deleted after 30 days.
• Records that the law requires us to keep are kept for the period required.

Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, however.

Your rights

You have the rights listed in Article 11 of the KVKK. The main ones: asking what data we hold about you and asking for it to be corrected, deleted or destroyed.

Send your requests to [email protected]; we reply within 30 days at the latest. Guests can also send requests about their details to the couple or to the same address. If the law of your country (for example the GDPR in the European Union) gives you additional rights, those rights also apply.

Children

Çeyiz.co is not designed for people under 18.

Changes

When we update this policy we change the date above, and we announce important changes in the app.
